História
Guiratinga is a town and municipality in the state of Mato Grosso in the Central-West Region of Brazil.[1][2][3][4]
The occupation of the region stemmed from dealing in gold mining region of eastern Mato Grosso. The first name of the town was Lageadinho, terms of geographical origin, in reference to the stream of the same name, which was approaching the corrutela basically formed by miners and Goiás.
The foundation is attributed to mining Guiratinga Augusto Alves, who was recognized in 1920 when the region in search of mining areas along with his family, arrived the stream margins Lageadinho and settled on a ranch thatched, built shortly after one Beautiful home on the banks of the stream Seminar, which serve as a starting point for future city Lageado, also called Princess of the East. Augusto Alves was gradually contacting residents who lived in the area, as well as those who came to settle there, demarcating them a lot, always obeying an urban layout commanded to build their homes, making Guiratinga, while being built by miners, obeyed the route of a planned city.
Law No. 961, of June 12, 1926, changed the name to Lageadinho Lageado. Three years after this date was reserved area of 3,600 hectares to the official formation of the heritage. On September 25, 1929, ruled that a law passed the locality its name to Village Lageado.
In 1938, a Decree Law ruled that the county and the county seat of Santa Rita do Araguaia be transferred to Vila do Lageado. Over time there was restoration of the municipality of Santa Rita. The Decree-Law No 145 of 29 March 1938, the municipality created Lageado.
On December 31, 1943, by Federal Law, the name was replaced by Lageado Guiratinga. According to a report from city hall Guiratinga, the change was due to "... a consensus of the population more enlightened, as the miners remained aloof." In fact the law that changed the name of locality is invoked throughout Brazil, changing names of cities, so that Guiratinga or older. It was attempted, with the law, prevent Brazilian cities have the same name.
Before Augusto Alves, had already reached the region some families coming from the Triangulo Mineiro region, around 1897: the Cajango, the Barros, and the Gabriel Moraes. These 5 households came in bullock carts, taking nearly five years to reach the region A. Herons (Santa Rita do Araguaia), putting down roots there. Augusto Alves, reaching more than two decades later, has established itself as prospector, diamond buyer, theoretician and teacher, finally consolidating their stay in the region for authorizing Augusto Cajango.
