Morgan Pressel
Morgan Pressel (born May 23 1988 in Tampa, Florida) is an American professional golfer from Boca Raton, Florida.
In 2005, Pressel won the North and South Women's Amateur Golf Championship at Pinehurst and the most important amateur event, the United States Women's Amateur Golf Championship. Pressel also finished her amateur career as 2005 Girls American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Junior Player of the Year. During her amateur career, she won 11 AJGA titles, including all five AJGA Invitationals : the "AJGA Slam". [1]
In 2001 as a 13 year old, she became the youngest qualifier in the U.S. Women's Open. In 2005, at the age of 17, she was one of three co-leaders going into the final round of the U.S. Women's Open, and finished in a tie for second place. Pressel was tied for first on the 18th fairway when Birdie Kim chipped in from the bunker on 18 to give her a one stroke lead. Pressel finished in 2nd after making bogey on the 18th.
Pressel attended Banyan Creek Elementary School and Omni Middle School. Pressel has stated that her Jewish faith plays a large role in her life. She is currently a senior at Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton, a private school affiliated with the Episcopal Church. The niece of former Top 10 tennis player Aaron Krickstein, Pressel was featured in an August 2005 issue of Sports Illustrated Magazine.
She is represented by IMG sports management agency and has endorsement deals with Callaway Golf, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Oakley.
