Born as Chauncey Lamont Hawkins changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith after converting to Islam. He recently traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest site of Islam,[1] to perform Umrah. He has since ended his career from rap, and right now is focusing on seeking knowledge and giving Da'wa. On May 26, 2010, he traveled to Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada and spoke about his life and why he converted to Islam .[2] On November 22, 2011, he was arrested when he arrived in the Brussels Airport and sent to jail in Vorst. The Belgian Police said he will be extradited to the USA because of a crime he might have committed in the USA before his conversion to Islam.[3]
