Aaj Tak loosely translates as "Till Today" or "Up to the Minute". Watched by some 45 million viewers in India’s cable and satellite universe, Aaj Tak is one of India’s largest privately owned news channels. Aaj Tak was free-to-air channel till 2006 in India, while it offered as a pay channel in the overseas market. In the United States, it is available on EchoStar’s DISH Network.

Awards

AajTak has also been awarded the Best News Channel Award by the 'Indian Television Academy' for 12 successive years.[1] Aaj Tak has also won several other accolades, including the 'Abbys', 'RAPA', 'Indian Marketing Awards' and Indian Telly Awards.[citation needed]
