Karenina Dueñas is a Security and Fraud Risk process executive at HSBC Data Processing Philippines, Inc, a part-time blogger/movie reviewer and a full-time mother. She studied to be a journalist at University of the East (Recto Campus) while writing for the Weekly DAWN, the official publication of University of the East students. She was a columnist and handled the Features department through volumes 58 and 59. She finished her secondary studies from College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac run by SsPs nuns where she was also part of the student organ, The Shield. Since her elementary years, she had been writing Feature stories in which she won, lost and attended numerous press conferences. She regards O. Henry and Shakespeare as her greatest influences in writing. Born and raised in Paniqui, Tarlac, Ms Dueñas was raised by a family of bookworms - hence the name 'Karenina' from her mother's favorite novel Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
