John Gibson Paton (born 1824 in Kirkmahoe, Dumfriesshire, Scotland; died 1907 in Melbourne, Australia) was a Protestant missionary to the New Hebrides.

Paton was the son of a stocking-weaver. After some work in Glasgow City Mission, he was ordained by the Reformed Presbyterian Church, and worked in Tanna and Aniwa for twenty-five years; his account of his work was published in 1890.
