Pinkish Black is an American experimental rock band formed shortly after the suicide of Tommy Atkins, past bassist of the predecessor, The Great Tyrant. The musical duo of Daron Beck and Jon Teague includes drums and synthesizer only. On May 5, 2012, their debut self-titled album was released and had gotten most famous for the second track, Everything Went Dark".
Formation, (2011)
On February 23, 2011, The Great Tyrant bassist, Tommy Atkins had committed suicide for an unknown reason, and was found in his home dead in the bathroom. The remaining members, Daron Beck on keyboards and vocals and Jon Teague on drums and synths, continued on as Pinkish Black.
Self-titled Debut, (2011-2012)
The band had been signed from Dada Drumming record label to Handmade Birds. Here, they had spent a great deal of time recording and mixing the music for their upcoming debut. Soon, on May 5, 2012, they had finally released their first seven-track full-length album. They had done well with reviewers for their song, Everything Went Dark, (which is critically acclaimed for various dialogue and strange audio for an introduction).
Century Media Records and Other Projects, (2012-present)
After the success of the debut, Beck and Teague had been offered to Century Media Records. They took the offer and are currently recording for an upcoming extended play. Although, they continue to do what they have done for most of their time: support and contribute to other local bands such as YETI and Rock Lottery 10. The brand-new EP is expected to be released either late 2013 or the following year in some time.
