I added the vandalism entry because this issue is already gaining significant publicity. The new technologies section, as with much of this general article, was filled with marketing double-speak and repetition. My favorite was: "Qtel has also implemented TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) which is a professional mobile radio system especially designed to meet operational communication needs for small to large industrial entities and organizations." I believe I edited to keep the necessary content in while reducing wordiness, but would certainly appreciate it if someone else would give this and other sections a strong look-over. --Thatnewguy 15:05, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added redirect from Qatar Telecom. --Thatnewguy 15:28, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is worth improving this article, but I see no reason for this silly news story to be mentioned at all. This is not an important incident for Qtel, Qatar, or Wikipedia. It is a total non-story trumped up by the media at random. If anything, it could go into an article about press errors or something. :) But really, there is no "vandalism controversy" here.--Jimbo Wales 19:39, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added taipei.pm.org, which I guess is an artifact in the filtering software from chinese use. 82.148.97.69 10:03, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This "silly news story" is a widely reported news story. I came to this page to find information about this news story: the link to the BBC article gave me what I needed. The repeated removal of this information is not an impressive introduction to the collaborative editing of Wikipedia. DavidCh0 11:01, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The company has been renamed Ooredoo. This article needs to be moved to the new name. --Mohamad Takriti (talk) 05:09, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Companies censoring internet

Should we have categories for companies censoring internet? Or services? Or do WP usually does it by countries? Serenity id (talk) 05:49, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
