Doping

In out of competition control testing, on July 23, 2008, Sella was found to test positive for CERA, the third generation EPO according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.^[1] Sella confirmed that he had used EPO when he was called to testify in front of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) on August 8, 2008. This resulted in him being suspended for a year, starting August 19, 2008.^[2]
