This article needs a ton of work

  • There should be a list of video releases (most of which are well-produced 50 minute shows that are not shown on TV)
  • the main picture needs to be a screenshot of the television show, not the video game.
  • Maybe a mention of Barney merchandise, and the video game screenshot can be used there?

There's List of Barney & Friends episodes and videos. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 12:35, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

I agree with the merge proposal. The show is called Barney & Friends, it would make sense to merge the articles about the friends. Anthopos 21:38, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I proposed a merge on the Barney discussion page, because that page is nearly identical in content to this one and even the vandalism is frequently duplicated between the two entries. I just have no idea how to formally propose or begin the procedure for getting a merge of the two articles. 24.218.222.86 15:51, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interogation

this sounds questionable, can someone provide a news-link for this claim:

"After the Iraq war of 2003, American interrogators reportedly used Barney's theme song, "I Love You," to break the resistance of high-ranking Iraqi captives, playing the tune over and over to disorient and demoralize the prisoners."

i read the link article, and it says that "i love you" was used to train american operatives not to torure iraqis...

quote from article:

"Trust me, it works," a US "operative" told Newsweek magazine.

"In training, they forced me to listen to the Barney I Love You song for 45 minutes. I never want to go through that again."

the article talks about use of Heavy Metal, not Barney to break will of the prisoners.

inhumane

I read that Barney's music was played repetitively for Iraqi captives as part of "Stress and Duress" interrogation. True, or urban myth? Certainly inhumane.... -- Someone else 23:23 21 May 2003 (UTC)

I heard that...

The person who plays as barney got shot and they only show reruns. Is this true?

Not likely, since the article has multiple characters listed as that evil beast. They'd replace it as likely as anything else.

Its AFD debate agreed the article should redirect here, but no merge was made because Soza is just one of many actors. If an editor thinks there may be some content retrievable, feel free to dig it up from Zachary Soza's page history. Johnleemk | Talk 11:07, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protect?

This article has been vandalised continuously for more than a month. The edits here mainly consists of blanking (which is vandalism) or reverting vandalism. This is one of the most vandalised pages on Wikipedia. Should we semi-protect this page, as the users who vandalise this page are anons. --Terence Ong (恭喜发财) 09:53, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. The vandalism is so slow that it's not really a problem. The main vandalism comes from one or two users and I already blocked one for a week. I won't semi-protect but if someone else does I won't revert the protection either. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 19:14, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm…

What, nothing about how Barney is evil?

Personaly, I wouldn't be that surprised if barney turned out to be a child melester. Shadow-F0X 5/11/06

You guys are morons. Read the Wikipedia page on evil, particularly the section describing the controversy over the word's usage. Personally, I believe that "evil" is synonymous with unpopular to most people.

For the record, am I the only one with enough decency to be against Anti-Barney Humor? The Legend of Miyamoto 01:11, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Getting an Image for the Page

I recently wrote to HIT Entertainment asking if they could supply an image for "Barney & Friends" or "Barney" under a suitable licence. Today, I received a response indicating they could not: "Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, due to copyrights, images are not available.". Ah well. -- Ch'marr 18:58, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question

How do they synchronize the mouth, eye, and appendage movements on the Barney costume(and the other costumes as well), but still keep the audio(or do they?)

PBS logos

Do we really need all those pictures of the PBS logo??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.33.249.200 (talkcontribs)

I agree, what's with the sudden emphasis on PBS? Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 23:29, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Someone was trying to put them in but doing a bad job of it so I put them in for them. I must admit I don't really see how they fit so if you want take them out. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:35, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank Goodness

I noticed the criticism over the PBS logos and wanted them to be taken off as well. When I looked this morning they weren't there. Thank goodness!

Banned in Japan

Why was this banned in Japan?

  • Maby because Barney didn't do so well in Japan.
