Removal of reflist
At Roy Maloy, you removed the {{reflist}} from the article with the edit summary reference does not verify informastion included in this article. Reflist allows references to be seen and does not require a reference to be used.--Auric talk 12:37, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 00:06, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello. I noticed that you attempted to file a deletion discussion (on the article Roy Maloy) but did not complete the process. Please note that, when listing an article for deletion, a discussion page needs to be made for other users to discuss whether to keep or delete the article. This is typically done by following the steps listed here. Note that if you are editing as an unregistered user, you cannot create a discussion page. Please consider registering an account or asking another user to help you complete the process at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Thank you. Auric talk 20:50, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Reverting
Do you mean reverting one or more of an editor's edits with one click? That's rollbacking, and yeah you need special permission. You can only use it to deal with vandalism, or a troll editor who keeps doing something stupid you've told him before not to do. Only an admin can give it to you, so best idea is to find a friendly admin (maybe one you've had good dealings with before) and ask about it. If you misuse it, you lose it again. Otherwise you're reverting with WP:UNDO. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 19:11, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, that exactly what I was referring to. I don't think I need it but just wondered how it was done. Thanks for taking the time to answer. FlatOut 03:01, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- No worries. You're doing some decent work with the AC/DC articles, keep it up mate. Nice to have someone else around to remove the "heavy metal" tags people like to put on there ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:32, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- In regards to that, cant the article be set so that only confirmed users can edit? Undoing constant changes from unregistered editors is a waste of time. FlatOut 01:07, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
- I wish. An article can be semi-protected, which would stop unregistered users editing it, but it would only be temporary, and an admin would only semi-protect if the article was being vandalised 5, 10+ times a day. AC/DC articles get this problem a lot, but unfortunately not quite enough. Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:28, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Just letting you know
In regards to this, I or anybody else, can remove an unsourced content at own discretion - whilst a {{citation needed}} is sometimes appropriate; providing the source in the first place is more sufficient. Just saying, —MelbourneStar☆talk 09:38, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed, I apologise for jumping to undo instead of finding a reference and then reinstating the quote. Thanks. FlatOut 09:43, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- No, no need to apologise! There wasn't any wrongdoing on either part; it's got the job done, the way you've done it too. I recognize you're new to Wikipedia, so if you need anything, please feel free to ask me. Regards, —MelbourneStar☆talk 09:48, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

WOW, I never noticed! I always thought admins would think it wasn't serious enough to protect. Great work!! That's going to save us a fair bit of time, I reckon. Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:14, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Melbourne
- Just a heads-up, categories like "Melbourne" are for articles, not talk pages. Cats like Category:Wikipedians in Australia are fine, but your personal page was appearing on the main category for all of Australia, so I "disarmed" the categories for you. Just FYI. AfD comment
Hello FlatOut,
You are relatively new to Wikipedia, but your gracious comment in response to mine shows that you have the potential to be an outstanding editor here. I will agree with you sometimes, and perhaps we will disagree again. But it will always be in the spirit of respect and collegiality. If I can ever be of assistance in understanding some aspect of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, do not hesitate to ask. If I can help, I will. If I don't know the answer, I will admit as much, and help you find someone who can educate us both. Take care. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:07, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thank-you Jim, I appreciate the feedback. I am enjoying editing and have been following your work closely as a template for how to behave. It hasn't worked as well as I had hoped when others fail to assume good faith, but for the most part a collegiate approach makes for a better community. FlatOut 05:44, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Like you, I am interested in rock music, though I am not as knowledgeable about AC/DC as you are. I have a clear memory of seeing their name as spray painted graffiti in an alley in Marin County in the 1970s, well before they first toured the U.S. But I am not a reliable source. I think they were popular on American hard rock radio before they reached these shores. As time goes on, my respect for their place in the rock pantheon grows.
- Rock on :) FlatOut 00:23, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

- As for bad editing experiences, forget and move on. If you contribute productively over time, the good will soon greatly outweigh the bad in your memory, and the bad will be little more than a source of bemusement. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:12, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Vandalism is not my intention
Excuse me but it seems you are confusing your verbs. I am not in any way "vandalising" an article by swapping an image around to (usually) a more updated, clearer quality picture. If that's vandalism to you then you possibly need to re think your outlook on editing. As far as I know images are changed frequently on Wikipedia without any fuss, and it is utterly ridiculous that you are so rigid when it comes to replacing photos. Stop with the "if it's broke don't fix it" mentality because that's just going to end up leaving articles in a poor state, you are very uncompromising when all I'm trying to do is add a bit of photographic variation. 121.220.222.63 (talk) 11:45, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi and thanks for raising your concerns. If you want to edit articles, you need to do so within Wikipedia guidelines and policies. The issue, which I have explained on several occasions, is that you are not permitted to replace an image with one of your own choice without gaining consensus. Use the talk pages and discuss your proposed changes. I am not saying that your changes are bad, incorrect or unwarranted changes, just that they are your opinion and there have been several instances where other editors have disagreed. See WP:CONSENSUS. You can continue to make changes without discussing them first but the chances of them being reverted will be much higher, and you are likely to end up in an edit war. I have gone out of my way to give you the information to help you edit properly but it is up to you to read it. Cheers FlatOut 12:06, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- That is understandable, those editors who have reverted the edits are a few in particular that like their own way on Wikipedia and are very resistant to change, especially on Melbourne related articles. I can name a few in particular that like to keep things how they envision but I think that's against wiki's policy. 121.220.222.63 (talk) 12:27, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- Those editors also have to abide by the same policies. Make your case and if you can't get agreement you can request content mediation. Sorry for the revert that was to a non-existent image. I also removed the warning as you are assuming good faith. Best wishes. FlatOut 03:34, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- The IP's edits can be reverted on the spot (3RR policy also permits this), since they're a known block evader who sock-puppets under accounts and IPs. Bidgee (talk) 13:22, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Bidgee, I just picked that up via one of your reverts. I have wasted an inordinate amount of time on this IP. Cheers Flat Out Let's discuss it 13:25, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

The ip is doing it once a week, sounds like a cappucino in collins street once a week, or beds are burning every saturday for the thrill, not sure what to do there... sats 02:01, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- Each time the editor does it, they get a warning. When they do it after a final warning they get a report to admin for consideration of a block. In this case, an admin was already watching their page and after I warned, they stepped in and blocked the. Following the process from advice, to caution to warnings and final warning is worth the effort. Cheers FlatOut 03:31, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
"Let's discuss it"
Hello Flat Out,
It seems you've succeeded in shortening your user name as you wished. Congrats! Of course, you can use "Let's discuss it" as your talk page link, and I am honored that you want to. My only request is that you use different fonts or colors, so that there is no chance of confusion. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 08:17, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Your help is very welcome! I made a couple of suggestions on my talk page, choose the one you like.
I'm interested in helping to work on this page! Maybe we could begin a rewrite in a separate sandbox page, then substitute wholesale when we have a satisfactory draft assembled. Are you working with any sources in particular? groupuscule (talk) 03:59, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Love Me / Fuck Me Stooshe song
I've been trying to correctly amend the section in this field but you seem to not allow me to. The song was called Fuck Me (as listed in the tracklist section) and for some reason, this comes as vandalism. Can you please allow people with true knowledge of the subject make the correct amendments to the page.
- Hi 198.102.219.144, I reverted your edit because you made an edit without giving any reason. You also introduced Fuck without a reference so it appears as vandalism. Please use edit summaries to explain your changes and support your edits with reliable sources. Please also sign your posts on talk pages with the four tildes ~~~~ so it's easy to see who is leaving messages. Flat Out let's discuss it 14:51, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi. I appreciate you overlooking this, but as mentioned on the tracklist section, the song was called "Fuck Me". Here's the reliable source that works as evidence (CLICK HERE). Popjustice is the biggest pop music website in the UK and helps break up and coming artists, the likes of Stooshe.
