Indraprasta PGRI University (formerly named STKIP PGRI Jakarta, and Indonesian: Universitas Indraprasta PGRI) was founded in 1982 offers open degree programs to participate actively to assist the government in order to realize the national ideal of Indonesia, which is to the intellectual life of the nation through equal education opportunities for all levels of society. The campus is located in Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta and Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.
History
STKIP PGRI Jakarta (Indonesian: Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Persatuan Guru Republik Indonesia English: College of Teacher Training and Education of Teacher Association of the Republic of Indonesia) was officially become Indraprasta University PGRI on November 6, 2004 based on SK Mendiknas RI No.142/D/O/2004 by the Ministry of National Education of Indonesia (Indonesian:Departemen Pendidikan Nasional).
Vision and Mission
Vision: Becoming a higher education institution that plays an active role in the development of national education through the development of human resource professionals with characters: independent, caring, creative and adaptive to global developments.
Mission:
- Build and expand: science, technology and arts, professional academic staffs and activities in the form of integral community devotion.
- Organizes various educational programs to produce professional manpower in various fields of education and non-education which is based on the nature of creative, innovative, independent, and caring.
- Develop a culture of entrepreneurship to get ready to face future global competition.
