List of top-grossing Filipino films
This is a list of Filipino films ranked according to its domestic grosses.[1]
Title History
'Isusumbong Kita Sa Tatay Ko' was the first Filipino film in Philippine history to reach the P100 million mark in the box office. In 2000, the family drama film, 'Anak', became the top grossing Filipino film of all time until 'Ang Tanging Ina' took the title in 2003 and held it until 2006.[2][3][4]
The horror film 'Sukob' held the title for almost 3 years from 2006-2009. In 2009, the romantic comedy film 'You Changed My Life' became the first Filipino film to exceed the P200 million mark in the box office.
In 2011, back to back movies broke the box office records -- the romance drama film 'No Other Woman' and the action comedy film 'The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin'. The latter became the first Filipino film to exceed the P300 million mark.[5][6]
In January 2013, a Metro Manila Film Festival film, 'Sisterakas', became the Top Grossing Filipino Film of All Time. It almost reached the P400 million mark in the box office.[7]
As of June 2013, 'It Takes a Man and a Woman' became the highest grossing filipino film of all time, grossing P401 million.[8]
