Abhay Jodhpurkar (born July 31, 1991) is an Indian singer born in Madhya Pradesh, discovered by A.R. Rahman from KM Music Conservatory a higher education institution founded in 2008 by the A. R. Rahman foundation. Abhay became popular with his latest song "Moongil Thottam", a duet with Harini in the movie Kadal mainly due to his soulful singing and near to perfect diction in Tamil language.[1]
Educational background
Abhay Jodhpurkar has completed his Bachelors in Bio Technology from SRM University, Chennai.[2]
Singing career
Abhay has learnt Qawwali for two years since 2010 and got the opportunity to sing in A.R. Rahman's Sufi albums. His music journey started when he got into A.R. Rahman's school KM Music Conservatory. Following his love for music, he was spotted by Rahman in a cultural event. His first break came in for Godfather (2012) a Kannada film.[3]
He has been featured in the recent album by Naiem Reza "Dancing Petals".[4]
