Fails WP:NENAN The Banner talk 23:30, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- The good news: I am finished checking the 1290 templates created by Jax. The Banner talk 23:41, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- LOL. Now we just have to wait for Jax to create enough articles to save as many as he can and notify Frietjes so he can proxy for him at TfD and add the articles to the nominated templates. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 02:21, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- When he starts producing quality articles, I have no problem with that. Otherwise: the axe! But I leave it to you to keep Jax on his toes. The Banner talk 04:04, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- I would appreciate it if you would use my talk page if you have a problem with my edits instead of attacking me at TfD. I'm sure it's shocking that I actually have an opinion that is independent of yours and Jax. Frietjes (talk) 15:36, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

- keep the ones that have enough links, delete the ones that don't. it should be a simple counting exercise to figure out which one had enough links, but was still nominated, which ones now have enough links after linking EPs and songs that were unlinked. Frietjes (talk) 17:40, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Comment. These templates have varying elements and qualifications going for them. Some of these are worth keeping, while others are not. I would probably say that templates worth keeping would include those with more than one section, such as Zola Jesus and Audio Bullys. Templates worth deleting would include those which detail thin discographies, or which only host studio albums, such as the templates of Jessie James and Disarmonia Mundi. I would also discourage templates that feature partial or full discographies of other music projects, as well as templates that focus on a singular musician without an actual solo career. Mungo Kitsch (talk) 06:30, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
- WP:NENAN asks for at least 5 relevant links towards the subject. Excluded from those relevant links are in effect the backlink to the subject itself, "related items" (most of the time the linked item is not directly relevant to the subject, like record companies or other bands). Links other bands are also seen as not relevant to the subject (those bands should have their own nav box when enough relevant links available) The Banner talk 20:53, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Fails WP:NENAN. Only four albums (?) on his own name, of which three have no article. The Banner talk 23:03, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- delete, no band/project with critical mass beyond Hella, which has a navbox. Frietjes (talk) 16:52, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Creating a navbox for an artist with little or no solo career just leads to navbox clutter on the articles to which it is attached. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:38, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- Template:Niclas Engelin (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Fails WP:NENAN. Nothing on his own name. The Banner talk 22:58, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Delete per nominator. Artist navboxes should be reserved for those with significant solo careers, because otherwise we risk articles on bands (and their recordings) being cluttered with a navbox for each band member. That sort of clutter just impedes navigation. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:44, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Fails WP:NENAN. Nothing on their own name The Banner talk 13:03, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Template is not used in a useful fashion, and trnasclusions have been migrated to use {{wrong license}}. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:21, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- {{Wrong license}} is for files with a wrong licence whereas {{NFUR not needed}} is for correctly licensed free files which have a fair use rationale. It's unclear why {{NFUR not needed}} redirects to {{maybe free media}} as the templates {{NFUR not needed}} and {{maybe free media}} obviously serve different purposes. There need to be two separate templates: {{wrong license}} and {{NFUR not needed}}. --Stefan2 (talk) 11:37, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Delete as redudant to NFUR not needed and wrong license. Definitely don't delete either NFUR not needed or wrong license. Magog the Ogre (t • c) 14:37, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Template:Bill Bruford (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Seems to fail WP:NENAN as he only recorded one album on his own name. The Banner talk 11:08, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- keep, recorded more than one album under his own name (see Bill Bruford#Solo career), and the other projects are very closely related, especially the duo work. Frietjes (talk) 14:37, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Bill Bruford led his own band in the late 1970s, called simply "Bruford", what means that it are recording by the band, not by Bill Bruford himself. Perhaps this template can be reworked to give an overview of all ensembles he played in. The Banner talk 15:32, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Keep and rework as there is also Earthworks (band) which Bruford also led. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 00:52, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

- keep Johnny Duncan (see discography), Jon Secada (see discography), Bill Medley (see discography), Peter Schilling (see discography), Stereo MCs (songs weren't linked), Kid Frost (added one link, more to add), Dean Martin (see Category:Dean Martin albums and Category:Dean Martin songs), Trace Bundy (see discography), Moist (add two songs which weren't linked), Blood Red Shoes (songs weren't linked), D Mob (added a song); indifferent Caron Wheeler (see discography), Saafir (still active); delete Prince Po (not enough outside of the intersection with Organized Konfusion), Miho Hatori. Frietjes (talk) 14:20, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I count the existing links. I don't use a crystal ball to see what the future can be bringing. The Banner talk 15:35, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- and deleting ones that will be shortly recreated is a pointless exercise (sloppy nomination can be just as troublesome). Frietjes (talk) 17:15, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- There's a big difference between the potential growth for navboxes such as the ones for Dean Martin and Peter Schilling. While neither as is pass NENAN, there are plenty of other articles for albums and songs by Dean Martin that can be added to {{Dean Martin}}. There are no such additional articles for Peter Schilling to populate {{Peter Schilling}} further. Keep Martin, Delete Schilling. Per WP:TfD, "templates should not be nominated if they can be fixed by normal editing". I really wish you would slow down Banner. I know you're just attempting to clean up Jax's mess and have put a lot of time in reviewing his history of horrible navbox creations, but this is starting to look more like a crusade. You're just cluttering up TfD with only you and Frietjes regularly taking part in these discussions, which IMO is not beneficial to the process. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:26, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- and Peter Schilling technically passes the arbitrary requirement, which is an essay by the way. I agree that the use of a "mass nomination spree" was not well thought out, since it reduces the quality of the discussion, and titling the nominations with Jax makes it look like an attack on an editor. if this were all based on some sort of policy, they would have been speedy deletion candidates. Frietjes (talk) 15:25, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- I wasn't arguing NENAN for keeping or deleting but as a response to the nomination, which was based strictly on the number of existing links. Meaning, I wouldn't suggest deleting the Dean Martin template even if it had only 2 links. And thanks for letting me know that WP:NENAN is an essay, I didn't know that. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 20:31, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

- Delete Moist, not about moist -- 65.94.79.6 (talk) 06:15, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- right, because there is no way to rename a template. Frietjes (talk) 15:29, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Procedural keep for now. It seems that some of these navboxes may have more merit than others, and trying to discuss their varying merits doesn't fit well in one group nomination. So I suggest closing this group nom, and opening individual nominations for any of these templates which the nominator still thinks should be deleted. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 10:49, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- Template:Aranda (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Fails WP:NENAN. I don't think guest musicians are relevant at all. The Banner talk 18:01, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
- weak keep, the four core links plus the band is five links, and the band is still active. Frietjes (talk) 18:22, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
- Usually, the backlink to the subject of the template is not counted as a relevant link. The Banner talk 18:46, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
- right, because the subject is the least relevant. Frietjes (talk) 19:32, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
- Not that it's not relevant, but because every one of these types of navboxes automatically has one link (the subject article), and if this navbox is already in each one of the other articles, it most assuredly will have a link to the subject already. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 00:14, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
- right, because the subject is the least relevant. Frietjes (talk) 19:32, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
- Usually, the backlink to the subject of the template is not counted as a relevant link. The Banner talk 18:46, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
- Delete. The guest musicians are too loosely-connected to justify inclusion in the navbox, and without them there are not enough links. Per WP:NENAN, the head article should not be counted (because the article will link to it alreday), so that leaves us with only 4 links (to the albums).
Also, Stop the World (Aranda album) shows no evidence of notability. If that page is deleted (as it should be), there would be only 3 links. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 08:33, 1 June 2013 (UTC) - Delete - not enough useful links for navigation. There are only 4 core links aside from the main article. -- Whpq (talk) 20:29, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
