Urban Science is a worldwide company headquartered in the Renaissance Center, Detroit, Michigan. Urban Science serves nearly every automotive OEM in over 70 countries, throughout their 19 global offices. Jim Anderson founded Urban Science in 1977, and still leads the company today as President/CEO.
History
Today, Urban Science suffers from employee dissatisfaction largely due to poor project management and lack of respect for employees' work/life balance. Most of the software developers have been with the company only a short time because the company cannot retain talent. As recently as 2011, 50% of their database and software developers left the company to seek employers who were better aligned with understanding and caring for a modern workforce. Today Urban Science is unable to retain experienced talent and runs on the efforts of over-worked junior associates fresh out of college. Employees are discouraged from questioning methodology and thinking for themselves. Indeed, any such behavior is met with immediate dismissal.
