Million Dollar Listing New York is an American reality television series on the Bravo that premiered on March 7, 2012.[1] It is a spin-off of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. In May 2012, Bravo renewed the series for a second season which debuted on May 8, 2013 with new cast member Luis D. Ortiz.[2][3] The first season averaged 1.04 million total viewers.[4]

Premise

The series follows three real estate agents — currently Fredrik Eklund, Ryan Serhant and Luis D. Ortiz — as they sell properties in the five boroughs of New York City.[1]


Production - Season 1

In April, 2010 an message was posted as follows:

The producers of the hit TV show "MILLION DOLLAR LISTING" are setting their sites on New York's high-end real estate market for a new docu-series following the lives and careers of major real estate agents.

Now casting prominent, big personality realtors in New York who handle the most high-profile clients, buyers, sellers and listings in town.

If you're a Realtor with million dollar listings and live a life of lavish opulence.... WE MAY WANT YOU!!![5]


Announcement

on December 2010 Four brokers were announced to appear in the first season:

  • Fredrik Eklund - Left CORE Group (another broker firm) for Prudential Douglas Elliman to star on the show.
  • John Gomes - Also from CORE, Gomes is Fredrik's business partner and has appeared before on Selling New York.
  • Caroline Grane - Was replaced at the last minute for Ryan Serhant.[6]
  • Michael Lorber - Son of Howard Lorber, Chairman of Douglas Eliman


Ryan Serhant was added at the last minute, replacing Caroline Grane. John Gomes doesn't appear in the show.
