Fishtronaut (Template:Lang-pt) is a Brazilian animated television series created by Celia Catunda and Kiko Mistrorigo and produced by TV PinGuim. The series tells of Fishtronaut, a fish in a costume similar to reverse scuba gear, which allows him to fly and breathe out of water. He is a secret agent who with his friends, Marina and Zeek, unravel the mysteries occurring in a park, through P.O.P., a magical ball containing clues vital to the mission. Audience members must dance along with the heroes to the tune so the P.O.P. will open and release the clues inside.
The series was made aimed at children from ages four to seven and debuted successfully on Discovery Kids on April 20,2009. In the international market the series is marketed by the names of Peztronauta (Spanish) or Fishtronaut (English). After success on TV, Peixonauta also won a play called Peixonauta to TV Theatre, whose premiere took place in January 9,2011 in Rio de Janeiro .
In November 2012, a film adaptation titled Peixonauta – Agente Secreto da O.S.T.R.A. was released.
Characters
Protagonists
- Fishtronaut - A yellow fish protagonist.
- Marina - Marina is a bright and curious 8 year-old who proves everyday to be a valuable member of the Park’s spy team. Whenever she and Fishtronaut happen to be apart, she can always use her trusty aquawatch to stay in touch.
- Zeek - Zeek may love to monkey around, but his awesome tree-climbing abilities and finely-tuned sniffer make him invaluable to the team. Though he does come up with the most implausible of theories, and even cause the occasional mix-up, his intentions are nothing but the best.
Secondary
- The Twins - Billy and Mac are Marina’s rascal cousins. Their shenanigans tend to get them (and the park) in a heap of trouble, but they are harmless having only the best intentions.
- Dr. Green - Dr. Green is Marina and the twins’ grandfather and the wise vet/caretaker of Smiling Trees Park. Whenever Marina’s stuck, she knows Grandpa can help her find the answer.
- Rosy Barb - Agent Rosy Barb has a flair for color and loves to rearrange the ocean floor to achieve the best aesthetic. Rosy knows every inch of the cove, and whenever Fishtronaut’s on dry land, he can always check in with Rosy via the Web Clam.
- Happy Plumb - Happy Plumb is a wise old fish who’s been around for a very long time, though no one’s quite sure just how long. He knows everything there is to know, all the way back to the beginning of Smiling Trees Park. Whenever Fishtronaut is stumped, he knows Happy Plumb can point him in the right direction, that is, if he can decipher Plumb’s riddle of an answer.
Episodes
The episodes usually begin with Fishtronaut, Marina, Zeek kidding (excepting a few episodes)until a problem occurs in the Park Happy Trees. Soon the three are greeted for a POP coming from the lake bottom. They open the POP following in his footsteps with palmas and trampled until her to open up and after that the POP delivers two lanes. The characters try to uncover the clues going places related to the sites. On some occasions when characters has much doubt Fishtronaut of the track back to the lake background to ask for help to the Chumbo happy. At the end of the trio soon manages to uncover the clues and go to the case. At the end after the case is resolved the other POP reappears to gift the trio for their victory.
Movie
On November 9 of 2012, the film Paulista Peixonauta – Agente Secreto da O.S.T.R.A. was released in theaters in commemoration of 3 years of exhibition series. The film was planned for 2 years and was released months before the premiere of season 2 of the series.
