Original Recipe Bites are pieces of popcorn chicken sold at KFC.[1] It was launched on August 1, 2012 to replace the chain's previous popcorn chicken recipe. Original Recipe Bites got its name from the chain's signature Original Recipe[2], which are boned pieces of chicken breaded in the secret 11 herbs and spices seasoning and fried in a pressure cooker, created by KFC founder Harland Sanders.

Process

The chicken is formed into small pellets, then breaded in the chain's signature "Original Recipe" batter (using a secret blend of 11 herbs and spices) and fried in a conventional deep fryer rather than a pressure cooker.

Packaging

Original Recipe Bites come in the following portion sizes: 4 pieces (as a kids meal), 6 pieces, or 8 pieces.
