NJOI is a free satellite television launched on 18 February 2012 in collaboration with the government of Malaysia and Astro.[1] It was officially announced by prime minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak on 20 December 2011.[2] During the launch, this service provide 18 television channels and 19 radio stations. However, an existing Astro customer may still able to receive this service through separate account.[3] The set-up, which consists of a set-top box, Out-Door Unit (ODU) satellite dish, smartcard and remote control unit is available at a one-time payment of RM 308 at all Astro authorised retailers, with a standard installation fee of RM 100 from an Astro authorised installer as stated on the website. This platform is currently using prepaid card method, that you pay for the day and amount that the channel that you desire to watch. It currently offers 22 TV channels, 20 radio channels and 3 NVOD services.
