Shauni McClain is a fictional character from the TV series Baywatch from the early 1990s. She was played by Erika Eleniak.

Shauni started life as a complete rookie when she first became a lifeguard with Baywatch. She was scared of people drowning and freezing up when people needed CPR. Mitch Buchannon saw this and decided to put her under the wing of experienced lifeguard Jill Riley. Jill trained her to become confident in her own abilities, she also helped Shauni develop the skills she would exhibit later on in her career. The two would become the best of friends. Shauni hit rock bottom, when Jill was wounded by a Shark attack that after a short fight in hospital, took her life. Shauni would never be the same after Jill's death and took her a long time to adjust to life without her.

During her time at Baywatch, she met, got to know and fell for her long term colleague Eddie Kramer played by Billy Warlock. Eventually, after two years of courting, the two would marry and move to Australia at the beginning of their third term together. Erika and Billy's onscreen romance became real for a while.

Erika Eleniak played in all 44 episodes of the first and second seasons, and first two episodes of the third season, she was the show's female mainstay (Leading female) from 1989 until 1993. It's been reported by both producers and Erika herself that her departure was down to her dislike for the direction the show was taking.
