Warren Hall
Warren Hall is a 13 story building at California State University, East Bay, the signature building of the campus, on top of the Hayward hills, overlooking the scenic eastern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area. The building is visible from cities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, serving as a landmark for Hayward and the surrounding Eastern San Francisco Bay Area.
The 40-year-old Warren Hall was rated the least earthquake-safe building in the California State University system by the CSU Seismic Review Board. In January 2013 the CSU Board of Trustees authorized $50 million to demolish the former administrative building and replace it with a new structure. Warren Hall is slated to be demolished by implosion on on August 17, 2013. Construction for the new 67,000 square foot-building is slated to begin in November 2013. Doors are expected to open in May 2015 on the completed structure.[1]
