Surname
Was not she originally named Hélène de Montholon? Did she take the surname “Bonaparte” as adult, was it her married name? According to Sten Forshufvud she outlived two husbands. Does anyone know their names? I think it is strange to have that headword without explaining why.

Photo?
Does anyone have a good photo of Hélène? I am convinced that the shape of face – the exact distances between the features of the face – is hereditary. I know what shape of face both possible fathers had. If she inherited her father’s shape of face I could tell with reasonable certainty who he was. If not I could at least judge the claims of physical resemblance between her an her mother’s lover. Yes, I do have a good mental image of how Napoléon I Bonaparte looked. I has been stuck together from his death mask, contemporary portraits and written descriptions. About the authenticity of his death mask I intend to discuss it in connection with Wikipedia’s article on the subject as soon as I get an account on a web hosting service. This is necessary since all the photos of the most credible death masks are no longer found on the World Wide Web.
