Emilio Fede is Italy's most notable newscaster. He started his career at public broadcaster RAI in the early '50s and went on to become the channel's most popular face. In the late 1980's he left RAI, went on to set up Italy's first private news and media group Mediaset, owned by current Italy's prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
