Alarms tape

Could the person who added the "Alarms" tape possibly confirm the full personnel listing for the recording? Thanks. Ac@osr 22:01, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Myself, Andy Williams, Jean-Emmanuel Dubois, and a guy whose name I forget who happened to be there when we did it.Stewart Keith 18:23, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Correction - I have the tape in front of me - it wasn't Andy Williams, it was Neil Campbell. But Andy did the sleeve artwork. And that other chap was Craig Robertson, he was a friend of Andy's which is why I made the mistake before.

Earimal source?

Is there a source for the suggestion that Earimal missed gigs on a regular basis? If not, it may need to be removed. Ta. Ac@osr 13:47, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done, and it only took ten months! Totnesmartin 14:13, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with it being removed, but it's certainly true. On more than a few occasions Vince would vanish right at the moment of us going onstage. Other times he'd just not show up. As the band began as a backing group for him, his importance in the band's history cannot be ignored.

On the downside, he always expected to make money from it (which we never did) and sadly he's one of the few important bandmembers that we haven't asked to play at our reunion show on 16th June. While I'm here, I'd like to thank whoever has been updating the entry with the 2007 news Stewart Keith 18:23, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's going to be a 4th album, later this year. More gigs would be great yes, but don't hold yr breath.Stewart Keith 09:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Typical, I take a break from here and Stewart shows up! :) Totnesmartin 12:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: It's official - The A Band has "remorphed". Looking for gigs, got a few in the pipeline. Also, see the myspace page for a five minute excerpt from last Saturday's "Afterclap" gig.Stewart Keith 14:58, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2007 lineups

Lineup for the Warrington 2007 reunion was: me, Neil Campbell, Jon Lander, Sticky, Andrea, Megan, Dylan Bates, Lenty, Scorzonera (signing for the deaf), Dave Higginson, Sharen, Pascal & Joincey (the latter two both new members) Filmed by Tim Barker & Rachel. Photography by Scorzonera (which I'm sure will be added to the A Band collection on flickr)Stewart Keith 03:57, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Would this be the same Pascal and Joincey that can usually be found in the excellent Stuckometer? (not that there's many other Joinceys....) Ac@osr 13:23, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it would, and here's the first photographic proof:

"American Evil" lineup: Stewart Keith, Sharen Woodward. Plus live debuts by: Martin Bizarro, Karl Waugh, John Aziz, Zoe Darling, Simon Murphy, Phil Todd (of Ashtray Navigations), Phil Julian (of Cheapmachines). (nine players, not eight)Stewart Keith 09:57, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is it OK to link the band's last.fm page? I never know what links are allowed here. Totnesmartin (talk) 19:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2010

Can somebody please update the page? The first section has been much quoted all over the internet, so that quote from The Wire could perhaps be replaced by a different quote from The Wire 300 article (which is by the same author). And surely the list of band members should be in a box at the right of the article, as happens with other bands.

The 2007 reunion section was fine at the time, but now we've played another 30 or so gigs since then, and gained more than 20 new band members. So I think perhaps apart from the part about the Warrington reunion, the rest of that section can be updated. I have all the details if you need them. Or you could look at the band's 'database' page.

Also, I've just noticed in the discography that "Salivating Regina" is listed twice - surely not necessary to list it twice?

Apart from that, let the other 'mistakes' remain, I like them.

Update: since I wrote the above we've played a further 25 gigs, and gained another 20 new bandmembers - rendering the section on our reunion even more out of date.

Another update - since I wrote the above update we've played a further 30 gigs on top of the 25 in the previous update. Please can somebody update the page accordingly? The band's online forum is a good source of up-to-date information (or read The Wire, haha).
