Orphaned non-free media (File:Lambda-bottle-01.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Lambda-bottle-01.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 08:35, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Giorgos Kolliopoulos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thank you for uploading File:Lambda-bottle-01.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Closedmouth (talk) 15:24, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Lambda-gift-box.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Lambda-gift-box.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:55, 8 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:55, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lambda olive Oil

In reply to your posting on my talk page; yes, I did delete this article because it appeared to be promotional. Any article which specifically relates to a particular brand of a product tends to appear in this way. But I would concede that there are brands (Coca-cola, wimpey are good examples) where is does not apply. If you would like to look at the relevant policies (WP:NN, WP:ADVERT) and then if you choose, re-apply to me, I will happily restore the original article for you to improve. Let mew know when you are ready - I am here every day. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:41, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK; you mention several references, which may well be perfectly sound. They are not included in the article. we do not expect that readers here should go and find their own references - they have to be up front in your text. And, I have got to say, the tone of the article still seems to me to be promotional in context. But, having said that, I propose to restore the article and see what you can do with it. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 18:33, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the refeences are correct; my error. When I looked at the article before restoring it they did not, for some obscure software reason, show up. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 08:55, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:SpeironCo-Logo.png missing description details

Please review our conflict of interest policy

Information icon Hello, Tassosl. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- UseTheCommandLine ~/talk ]# ▄ 15:05, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

If I understand correctly my account is blocked because another user thinks that I have used more than one accounts. I have not used any other account other than TassosL. I do not know what to say to prove this, the "investigation" page does not give me any information on what the other account(s) I have supposedly used are. Anyway I am not really active on Wikipedia, I have spent some time to enter some information about an olive oil (lambda) that I have tasted and I find really good and marketed well for a Greek product. So I read more about it and found references all around the world and managed to write an article which I thought was well documented and referenced by magazines and newspapers like LATImes, Time, etc. A user had previous contacted me about lambda and with his help, the article became better and I deleted the references that were not so notable. (see my talk page, my conversation with Antony Bradbury (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Tassosl#Lambda_olive_Oil and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Anthony_Bradbury/Archive13#Lambda_Olive_Oil_page_deleted) ). The page has now shrunk to just a line by another user. That's all I have to say for now. If you like, please inform me about the other suspect accounts. Thanks. Tassosl (talk) 20:17, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Contributions of both accounts (both regular and deleted) overwhelmingly supports conclusion of sock puppetry. Singularity42 (talk) 18:21, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Shawn in Montreal. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Lambda (olive oil) because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Keep it up, and I'll make sure you're blocked. This is your first warning. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:26, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|reason= Hi again, I have been blocked because of sockpuppeting, COI and spamming.

  • Sockpuppeting:
I can only say that I do not have any other accounts other than Tassosl. I am sorry but I do not know how to convince you about that. I think that you can check my IP log and it will be either one starting with 83.xxx (that would be my home) and the other one(s) are from my work office (eett.gr, Athens, Greece, it deals with telecommunications, that's what I do). I can not say anything for the other accounts that you have linked to mine as I know nothing about them.

As I wrote before, I have spent some time to enter some information about the lambda olive oil that I have tasted and I find really good and marketed well for a Greek product. I have no affiliation with the product, I make no profit from it, I don't work for them, I just have some bottles of it in my home and I enjoy it in my salad, that's all.
When I created the page, what I did was find another product and "copied" the layout (I think it was some water or something like that), that's why I also created the oliveoil template, I thought it's the way pages work: they need a template.
I think I also created a very small Speiron page (it's now gone) because the lambda page would otherwise be an "orphan page" like it is now, so I thought it best to link from a new page (Speiron) than a more general page like Olive oil or Lambda, to avoid promotion issues. I know understand that's not the way it's supposed to work in Wikipedia so apologies for that.

  • Notability and References
I thought that was cleared some time ago when user [[User:Anthony_Bradbury|Anthony_Bradbury] helped me edit the page and remove material and references that were promotional (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Tassosl#Lambda_olive_Oil and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Anthony_Bradbury/Archive13#Lambda_Olive_Oil_page_deleted).

I removed an edit by user Shawn in Montreal (@Shawn in Montreal: by the way thank you again for your time and effort). He included the split with a producer but there was no mention of the producer in the rest of the article, so I removed it as it seemed to be confusing. As far as I know lambda is still produced and bottled every year (my bottles have an expiry date in 2014). I did use the greek newspaper article he found as a reference and wrote that the oil was mentioned by the Greek prime minister. Was that promotional or spamming? I asked for advice from Shawn on his talk page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Shawn_in_Montreal#About_the_Lambda_.28olive_oil.29_page), got no answer.

  • My other edits
I also saw that some additions I made on The Clash page and the Joe Strummer page have been undone by user UseTheCommandLine as coming from not reliable sources. I tried to open a dialogue with him/her (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:UseTheCommandLine#Your_undo_on_The_Clash_page) but got no answer.

Anyway that's all, this is not a request to unblock, it's just a "bye bye" to the community.

Big thanks for your time, apologies for any trouble/anger I generated. Tassosl (talk) 07:55, 17 September 2013 (UTC)}}[reply]
