Song

Nobody's Business is a song recorded by Barbadian artist Rihanna, from her seventh studioalbum Unapologetic. It featured guest vocals by Chris Brown. It was co-written by The-Dream, Rihanna herself and Carlos McKinney.[1] The song incorporates lyrics from Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel"

Background

Rihanna began "working on the new sound" for her seventh studio album in March 2012, even though she had not yet begun recording.[2] On September 12, 2012, Def Jam France announced via Twitter that Rihanna would release a new single the upcoming week while her seventh studio album was scheduled to be released in November 2012. However, the tweet was quickly deleted and replaced with another clarifying that more information would be available the next day (September 13).[3] Via her official Twitter account, Rihanna posted a series of "teasing" tweets announcing her seventh studio album.[4] On October 11, 2012, in one of her tweets revealed that the title of her new album is Unapologetic alongside with its cover.[5]

The song is somewhat controversial to the public because Chris Brown is featured in it. In 2009, Brown assaulted Rihanna after a pre Grammy party and police reports were filed on the incident. Photos were released of the battered Rihanna and have since been banned from being shared. This is the third song put out by the two after the alleged incident. The two prior songs include Birthday Cake (song) Remix and the Turn Up the Music (song) Remix. The reason Nobody's Business is so controversial is because the public is in shock that these two celebrities are still in contact despite what happened between them years ago and even the small things that have happened in the recent past. For instance, Brown was accused of getting a tattoo on his neck of what resembled the banned photo of Rihanna after he beat her.

Composition

Nobody's Business includes house and Chicago stepping styles, and a Four on the floor kick drum.[6] Rihanna said that the song's lyrics show "basically the way I look at everything regarding my personal life.[7] The number may possibly associated with Rihanna's relationship with Chris Brown.[8]
