Pokiri is a 2006 Telugu action movie directed by Puri Jagannadh. Mahesh Babu, Ileana, and Prakash Raj are in the lead roles.
Sypnopsis
Pandu (Mahesh Babu) is a mafia man who lives a life like a thug. He falls in love with Sruthi(Ileana), an aerobics instructor, at first sight. Because Pandu is a criminal, Sruthi hesitates to confess her love to him. After several incidents, Pandu gets involved in two rival gangs- Narayana gang and Ali Baba gang. He is now after Ali Bhai(Prakash Raj) who provoked him against Narayana gang. Pandu also loses his father because of Ali Baba. How Pandu tackles Ali Bhai in a new form is the rest of the plot. Pokiri is the biggest hit of Tollywood for the year 2006. Pokiri 4 weeks share Rs.25 Crores which is Highest gross for Tollywood and it is estimated that movie will cross the 40 crore mark soon. (Mahesh Babu) staunchly defends the gross violence and obscenity projected in the film.
