Diff: not important
Comments:It would be nice if the message could specify the section, even better if the whole message was on Echo, rather than on the user talk page. Other than that, I find the messages helpful. Keep up the good work.

P.S., I hath perused thy notice, and findeth it ungrammatical by the standards of British English, yea, even though it be pseudo-archaic, and therefore the spelling thereof counteth not. Even so I complaineth not, but merely informeth thou of the error of thine ways that thou may revert to the path of righteousness. P.P.S The pot, I guess, calleth the kettle black...
- OOPS! "by the standards of (archaic) British English" 1st person 'have', 'find', 'complain' and 'inform'; 2nd person pronoun objective form 'thee', and possessive before a consonant 'thy'. MacAuslan (talk) 12:18, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello thanks i want to know can i have my own Wikipedia page or biography so that people can know me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.215.122.197 (talk) 10:55, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
- Feel free to create a user page, which might be better if you created a Wikipedia user account first. However, please don't create a Wikipedia article about yourself, per Wikipedia:Create a new page#Things to avoid. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 17:12, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
BracketBot - Satbuff
Page: Sat-IP
Diff:
Comment/question: This page is about a communications protocol called 'Sat>IP'. Although the page title cannot reflect this (and is called Sat-IP), throughout the page the term, Sat>IP is used and this has triggered BracketBot in about 45 instances! In this page, the '>' symbol is not being used as a bracket so if there is some way to exclude the term Sat>IP or the Sat-IP page from detection of '<>' syntax errors by BracketBot, that would be useful in the future. Thanks Satbuff (talk) 15:33, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
I don't need these.
I am not sure why I am getting these message about brackets. If the use of extra brackets bothers you, then just go ahead and fix them. Thanks for your attention. Yours, GeorgeLouis (talk) 21:50, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- The bot isn't smart enough to fix problems itself; it can only notify a human, hopefully the one who caused the potential problem. If you have no interest in fixing the bracket errors you introduce, you can opt out of the warnings. Huon (talk) 01:09, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Diff: A [citation needed] that I posted as a reminder to myself to replace a cite to a dead link was written as {{cn}.
Comment/question: Is it possible to make BracketBot ignore articles marked {{inuse}} or {{underconstruction}}? The bot's habit of disrupting my work in progress is as distracting as the {{inuse}} and {{underconstruction}} tags I just entered. Especially when it pops in in mid-session when I am editing. Georgejdorner (talk) 07:39, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
- On the other hand you are immediately notified of typos or such. If the bot ignored edits made to such articles, it would not return to detect mistakes when the {{inuse}} tag is removed. Huon (talk) 18:16, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Comment/question: The bracket (a parenthesis) was part of an emoticon that appeared in quoted text. These seems like it might be a bit of a common false positive, though I'm not sure if there's a fool-proof way to get around it. I figured I'd leave a note just in case!

Page: Douglas Mawson Diff: [1] Comment/question: In providing an EL to a deep link, I use '>' to indicate the division between first the site owner/publisher (or homepage), and second, the target page. The example here was Australian Antarctic Division > Home of the Blizzard. I haven't had a problem using this syntax before. Cheers, Bahudhara (talk) 04:33, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
