Elie Weisel's original account of his experience during the Holocaust written in his native Yiddish. The work was originally published in Buenos Aires. Wiesel compressed and rewrote that book in French with the title La Nuit and in English as Night.

Naomi Seidman worte an article titled "Elie Wiesel and the Scandal of Jewish Rage" (printed in the journal of Jewish Social Studies) where she analyzes the differences between the original and its translations.
