Namit Das (born 10 July 1984) is an Indian film and theatre actor. He has acted in several Television Commercials. He is also a trained singer but preferred Acting over Singing.[1]
Education
He completed his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from St. Xaviers College.
Personal life
Namit is the son of noted Ghazal Singer Chandan Dass.
Background
He hails from a musical family.His maternal grand father was a music director K.Pannalal.He was trained in north indian classical music by his uncle Bhavdeep Jaipurwale & Jaidev Kumar,his maternal uncle. But during his college days at St. Xaviers he got involved in theatre doing college shows at college festivals and also started working with a company theatre independently.He first got involved in professional theatre through THESPO. He started his Television career with the show Pancham , which featured actors like Rohini Hattangadi,Adarsh Gautam,Gufi Paintal.After that came lot of theatre shows like "The Company Theatre","Arpana" ,"AK Various" &"Cinematograph". He also received a META nomination for supporting actor for a play called Numbers in the Dark. He got his first break at Bollywood with the movie Wake Up Sid and followed with Ghanchakkar where his was appreciated for the role of Idris.
