Nonliterate Peoples

Little research has been done generalizing the Five Factor Model to nonliterate societies. Recent research on personality variation among forager–farmers in the Bolivian Amazon suggests that the Five Factor Model is inherently flawed. While there are high inter-reliability ratings across tests for literate peoples, the Big Five yield low reliability over a variety of analyses in nonliterate adults.
