Salman Khan appointed as a host 4th time in series

Bigg Boss 7 is the seventh season of the Indian reality TV series Bigg Boss which aired on TV channel Colors from 15 September 2013, with Salman Khan returning as the host for the fourth time and this season is longer than its predecessor, Bigg Boss 6 and will last for 15 weeks (104 days) concluding on Saturday, 28 December 2013. The seventh season was launched with the tagline- 'Jannat Ka Wow Aur Jahannam Ka Aaw Dekhege Saath Saath'. The show started airing at 9:00 everyday from September 15.

House themes

On launch night, Bigg Boss announced that seven of the housemates will be moved to Heaven and the remaining shall stay in Hell. The responsibility to decide which housemate goes to which area was given to the first two entrants Tanisha and Andy by Bigg Boss.

Heaven

The heaven side of the house has a pool and a beach like feel and also has a portion that has a dome like ceiling designed to look like a skyline filled with clouds. The walls of the house are not only colorful but also have words like ‘crazy’ written on it with much flair. It also has a quote written on a wall that is the highlight of the living area. The house also includes a wash basin with a cycle. For the first time in the history of Bigg Boss, the house has a clock in the living room.

Hell

The hell side of the house has beds arranged on the floor but not much of a comfort to any of the contestants. The house is separated by a fence. There is one gate which is connected to the heaven side. Food is a big concern for the contestants as participants in this area do not have a kitchen. As per an announcement by bigg boss all the food is prepared by heaven living mates for themselves and for hell living mates. Also there is no demarcation between the bedroom and living area and will give the house a dormitory kind of a look. The toilets inside the hell half have only Indian style sitting and the water is to be filled manually and used for all daily chores from a tap planted outside.

Circumspection between Houses

According to the concept of Heaven and Hell, and the boundary between two houses, Bigg Boss orders some strictures among inmates of both houses. With these orders, Inmates are unable to cross the boundary of each other places without the permission of Bigg Boss, No one can give anything from heaven side to hell or vice versa in any condition, but, they can share only food which is the basic necessity of both inmates and as hellmates have no kitchen and all the responsibility of food is of heavenmates.

Elimination of Heaven and Hell:Bigg Boss House

On the 31st night of the season,several men all covered in black and hiding their faces entered the hell side and started destroying it.The used hammers to break glass,set things on fire and also started cutting down the bars dividing the house. They instructed hell-mates to pack up their stuff and were led into the heaven side via a roof chamber. The whole hell side was covered with painting that night,it was later announced by Bigg Boss in the morning that there was no Hell and Heaven side from now on and it was just the House of Bigg Boss.

Bigg Boss Warden

For the first time in the history of Bigg Boss has an assistance of warden, called Bigg Boss Warden who will take the charge of keeping a close eye on the inmates. She has a responsibility for making inmates wake up on time, keep an eye on inmates tasks and their actions. It is the only new element that is common for both the houses.

1. ^ All the house specifications were given by the first two entrants (Tanisha & Andy) as per the order of Bigg Boss, and the decision for allotment of Tanisha and Andy was opposite to the second last entrants to their allotment, according to Bigg Boss orders.
2. ^ Bigg Boss asked the heaven housemates to choose from among them a housemate who is, according to them, ineligible to live on the heaven side. The housemate with the maximum votes is made to swap places with a decided housemate from the hell side inmates.
3. ^ Switching sides was dependant upon the result of the luxury budget task. Housemates decided by mutual consensus the names of the two housemates, from both sides, they would like to move.

All inmates except the worst performer, from hell, and the best performer, from heaven, were made to switch sides.

Later during swapping , each hell housemate had to choose a heaven mate in replacement. Nobody chose pratyusha so she remained in heaven. Later pratyusha,kamya and tanisha asked bigg boss to bring armaan to heaven through the wishing well.
6. ^ All hell mates shifted to the heaven side as the hell was completely destroyed.Bigg Boss also announced that this side was the "Bigg Boss House" now.

Vote to move

• Occasionally Bigg Boss asks the heaven housemates to choose from among them a housemate who is, according to them, ineligible to live on the heaven side. The housemate with the maximum votes is made to swap places with a decided housemate from the hell side inmates. The first election took place on Day 4. Voting was discontinued in the second week where switching sides was dependant upon the result of the luxury budget task.

2	24 September 2013 (Day 09)	Task was prorated into two halves, The hellmates had to keep a tab of every minute and manually count every second to make an hour. After every hour has passed, they have to display the exact time on the clock and wait for the Warden to announce if they have registered the correct time, The inmates on the heaven side have to distract them and divert their attention. According to rule, at any time only two people from the hell side can do the counting. Initially, Hellmates didn't manage to get the time right but after few trials, they score their first point, albeit the hell-mates continue the task through the night as the heaven-mates leads with three points.On second half, task was swaped among both House sides and this time Heaven mates have to count the time while Hell mates have to distract them, after several trials, the heaven mates were not able to get the time right and lose points, which ultimately counts the winning of Hell mates. 3	1 October 2013 (Day 16)	Housemates were set their third weekly shopping task: 'Scientists and Guinea pigs.' The task involved housemates being subjected to a fictional viral outbreak. The housemates on the heaven side were made scientists leaving hell housemates became infected. The infected housemates were subjected to Bigg Boss's attempts at curing the virus, and if they were cured they would earn points for the hell side of the house otherwise the heaven side will get the point. 4	8 October 2013 (Day 23)	The task for this week was named 'Amdani,Atthani,Kharcha,Rupiya' (Income,Penny,Expenditure,Rupee).Hell housemates had to print Bigg Boss bills to buy any item (food) they needed from the Heaven side,and heaven-mates could sell them on any price they wished.The task lasted two days and whichever side had more money than the other at the end would be declared winner.The heaven-mates were also provided with a lock safe where they had to put all the money. Armaan had to provide Bigg Boss a 100 bills secretly as he had failed to complete a punishment the previous day. Gauhar and Asif were also given a secret task to steal the money from the safe but they failed as heaven-mates stored the money in another place.As a punishment from Bigg Boss,heaven side's money was reduced drastically.The hell side ended up winning by a huge margin and as a result, had stalls set up on their side where they could buy anything with the money they had gathered. 5	15 October 2013 (Day 30)	This week's luxury budget task was titled 'Shaitan aur Farishtey' (Devils & Angels),where the hell-mates portrayed devils and the heaven-mates angels. Bigg Boss had placed a total of 5 Golden Badges on the heaven side and the hell-mates had to try and replace them with their Dark Badges.Only two hell-mates could try once and captain Gauhar was given the responsibility to overlook the task and make sure it went according to the rules.The hell-mates ended up replacing all Golden badges on the first day and hence won. Bigg Boss later announced that the task wasn't over yet,as the hell-mates had captured heaven side,the heaven side could only use their side with permissions from them. Bigg Boss also arranged a court in the house later where each member could accuse another from opposite side had they felt something went unfair. The next day saw the elimination of Hell side and as there were limited beds on the Heaven side,Bigg Boss allowed hell-mates to sleep on them as a reward for their win. Bigg Boss rewarded a total of 2500 luxury points and only the winning team could come up with the list,but they failed to do so within the allowed time period and hence ended up loosing all the points. • ^Note 1 : Only the housemates living on the Heaven side had the right to nominate. However they could only nominate housemates living on the Hell side.
