Hans Bauer (12 March 1919 – 30 March 1983) was an Obersturmführer in the 3 Company, SS-Panzergrenadier—Battalion 506 who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 5 April 1945.[1] The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
