Indraprasta PGRI University (formerly STKIP PGRI Jakarta) (Indonesian: Universitas Indraprasta PGRI) is an Indonesian university founded in 1982. The university offers open degree programs to assist the government in advancing the intellectual life of the nation through equal education opportunities for all levels of society. The campus is located in Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta, and Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.[1]
History
STKIP PGRI Jakarta (Indonesian: Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan Persatuan Guru Republik Indonesia) (English: College of Teacher Training and Teacher's Education Association of the Republic of Indonesia) officially became the Indraprasta PGRI University on November 6, 2004, based on SK Mendiknas RI No.142/D/O/2004 by the Ministry of National Education of Indonesia.[2]
Vision and Mission
Vision: Becoming a higher education institution through the development of human resource professionals -- independent, caring, creative and adaptive to global developments.
Mission:
- Build and expand professional academic staff in science, technology and the arts.
- Organize programs in various fields of education and non-education that are creative, innovative, independent and caring.
