Central Spine Road, Federal Routes FT 8 and FT 9 is a new highway under construction in the central of Peninsula Malaysia, Malaysia. It is a toll-free highway. The 325 km (201 miles) highway replaces the former 2-lane FT 8 Gua Musang Highway and FT 9 Karak-Tampin highway. The construction first starts on Package 3 which is from Merapoh to Kampung Relong. The reason why it starts there first because the FT 8 Gua Musang Highway passes through Bukit Tujuh which is the most dangerous area and is an accident-proned area. The first stretch opened on this highway is at Chegar Perah.

Notable features

At most section, the Federal Route—was built under the JKR R5 road standard, allowing maximum speed limit of up to 90 km/h.
