David Stuart Walker[3](born 30 May 1957) is the current Bishop of Dudley. On 5 June 2013 he was announced as the Bishop-designate of Manchester.[4] He was educated at Manchester Grammar School, competing in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1975,[5] and King's College, Cambridge.[6] After a period of study at Queen's College, Birmingham he was ordained in 1983.[7] His career began with a curacy at St Mary Handsworth,[8] after which he was Team Vicar at Maltby, then Bramley before ordination to the episcopate. A keen hill walker,[9] he is married to Sue and has two children.
