The Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) Pty Ltd (UAC) is the organisation that processes centralised applications for admission to tertiary education courses at participating institutions, mainly in NSW and the ACT. A not-for-profit company incorporated in July 1995, it has offices located at Sydney Olympic Park.

Role

UAC processes centralised applications for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses at its participating institutions. UAC also notifies current NSW HSC students of their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

In addition, it:

  • administers tertiary admissions tests such as the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)
  • processes applications for Educational Access Schemes (EAS), and for some Equity Scholarships
  • produces a range of print and online publications including admission requirements and course information for potential applicants.

UAC provides an online applications process called Apply, as well as a Check & Change facility, which allows applicants to view and amend their application details.

UAC is a member of the Australasian Conference of Tertiary Admission Centres (ACTAC).

Participating institutions

UAC acts on behalf of many tertiary institutions across New South Wales and some interstate institutions.
