Yukiya Sugita (杉田 祐希也, Sugita Yukiya, born 22 April 1993), also known as a Sugi, is a Japanese footballer who plays for Hércules CF as a left winger.
Club career
Sugi was formed in Kashiwa Reysol youth teams. In the summer of 2011, in a friendly match in Elche between Kashiwa Reysol and Elche B, the agent Javier Subirats decided to represent him. Elche CF dismissed his transfer when it was practically closed. Sugi returned to Japan to play for his university team until October 2012[1] when Gaspar Campillo, coach and sporting director of FC Jove Español, decided to sign him after the positive reports written by Subirats. He signed with Jove a contract until June 30, 2014. Due to bureaucratic problems, Sugi was unable to play in fourth level and only play with the B team on the sixth level.[2] In the 2013-14 season, Jove Español becomes subsidiary of Hércules CF, and Sugi going to train with the professional team of Alicante city. Quique Hernández, coach of Hércules, is delighted with the technical level of Sugi and makes his debut in 2013–14 Copa del Rey at September 11, 2013 against Murcia entering in the 56th minute replacing Quique de Lucas.[3] November 17, 2013 Sugi debuted on the Spanish second level against Córdoba entering in the 74th minute replacing Adrián Sardinero.[4] On 24 November, Sugi scored his first professional goal against CE Sabadell, match in which concurred with his compatriot Sotan Tanabe.
