Charlie Horse are a band based in Sydney, Australia. The group formed in 2010 and as of 2013 have released 2 albums, 'I Hope I'm Not A Monster' in 2012 and 'Strange Passengers' in 2013. They have released an EP in 2011, I Killed My Mind and 3 singles with accompanying film clips, I Killed My Mind, Dead Roses and Deep Water.

Early days

The band formed after McDonald and Rose met in a Balmain pub, the London Hotel on New Years Day 2010. After discussing music and a shared love of old Springsteen and Ryan Adams, the duo agreed to write together to see what would eventuate.

Music

The band were often labelled alt. country which is possibly appropriate for their first album I Hope I'm Not A Monster, but their second album Strange Passengers saw them develop their sound into a much darker lyrical territory with sonic textures that drew comparisons to PJ Harvey, the Drones, Patti Smith and Crazy Horse.

Recent Activity

The band are currently touring their most recent album Strange Passengers across the east coast of Australia and are looking towards touring internationally in 2014.
