Sir Alexander Perceval Matheson, 3rd Baronet (6 February 1861 – 7 August 1929) was an English-born Australian politician. Born in Mayfair, London, he was the son of Sir Alexander Matheson, 1st Baronet, a Scottish member of the House of Commons. Educated in England at Harrow School, he migrated to Australia in 1894, becoming a commercial agent and company manager on the goldfields. In 1897, he was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council for North-East Province, serving until 1901. In that year, he was elected to the Australian Senate as a Free Trade Senator for Western Australia. He served until his retirement in 1906. Having returned to England, he succeeded to the baronetcy in 1920, and died in 1929.[1]
