Central Pattana (Template:Lang-th, IPA: [cenːtʰralːpʰatʰːtʰaːna]) is Thailand's largest retail property development and management arm of the Central Group, Central Pattana was founded as Central Plaza Co., Ltd. on 17 June 1980 with a registered capital of 300 million baht by Central Group, Techapaiboon family, Saha Union group and minor shareholders.[4] The company became registered as a public limited company in 1994 and was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand on 1 March 1995.[1] Mr. Kobchai Chirathivat is the current President and CEO.

Central Pattana Today

Over 30 successful years, CPN has evolved into Thailand's largest and most sophisticated developer of retail property. Currently the Company owns and manages 23 premium shopping centers, five office buildings and two residential condominiums. The company will also be advising DLF on the 'Roy's world' project. With a total gross floor area (GFA) exceeding 1,460,000 square metres (15,700,000 sq ft) squaremetres and Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of 1,085,102 square metres (11,679,940 sq ft),[5] CPN is undoubtedly the industry leader surpassing its closest competitor by more than double in size.

The Company's long-term strategy envisages the development of its trademark shopping centers in well-identified locations offering high potential both in Bangkok and in major cities throughout Thailand. Its next challenge is to move overseas, exporting its retail property expertise to neighboring countries through the development of innovative World class shopping centers in strategic markets

Shopping mall concepts

CPN operates 3 kind of shopping mall concepts:[6]

International shopping center and multi experiential retail and leisure destination with over 200,000 square metres (2,200,000 sq ft) of net leasable area. There is currently one branch of CentralWorld.

The "real shopping experience" with a complete quality selection that enhances every lifestyle, fashion and entertainment. A typical mall of this size has around 100,000 square metres (1,100,000 sq ft) of net leasable area. There are currently 18 malls of this concept with 3 malls under construction. The first mall of this concept opened in 1982 and is CentralPlaza Ladprao.

The "shopping and entertainment experience" with holiday spirit and local novelty, it's designed to cater more international visitors. Approximately 50,000 square metres (540,000 sq ft) of net leasable area. There are currently 3 malls and 1 mall underconstruction. The first mall of this concept opened on Pattaya Beach.
