Red links vs dead links
as WP:link rot and WP:dead link will tell you, there is a difference between a red link and a dead link. in Bolivia, you have been putting dead link notices next to red links. That is not the intended purpose of a dead link notice. Dead link notices are intended to be put next to references in which the web page links on those references for some reason don't work. You are not supposed to use dead links to report red links. Red links such as this are made when the article to which the red link is linking doesn't exist, and, when an editor encounters a red link, he/she knows the article probably doesn't exist, and he/she can then create that article. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to help make Wikipedia better, and this message is only to let you know how to properly deal with red links, as you don't seem to have been doing anything blatantly wrong. If you encounter red links in the future, you should consider creating an article on the red linked subject (assuming the article is notable), as that is how red links are fixed. Thank you, and happy editing! Greengreengreenred 16:57, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
