At the 2012 Gala of Sports Journalists of Andalusia, he earned a Sports Effort award.[2]

5-a-side football

He is the coach of the Spain national 5-a-side football team.[1][2]

He coached the national team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.[2]

In late 2012, the government of Malaga announced they would build the first purpose built blind football pitch in the country, because the national team had a number of players based there and Urbano lives in Malaga.[1]
