Interstate 49 in Arkansas

Interstate 49 (I-49) is portion of Interstate 49 in Arkansas. It starts at Doddridge at the Louisiana state line, then to Texarkana and I-30, as it reaches the Texas state line and ends at US 71 and US 59.

It's planned to return to Arkansas after bypassing Texas and eventually following I-540 to Missouri.

Planned extension

In the U.S. state of Arkansas, Interstate 49 consists entirely of the following two unconnected routes, but, in the future, theses will be connected as part of I-49 project and will be renumbered as I-49:

• Interstate 540, from Fort Smith to Bentonville, Arkansas, running mostly concurrent with US-71, but, in the future, will be part of I-49.
• Arkansas Highway 549, from US-71 Doddridge to the Texas state line, ending at US-71, north of Texarkana, but this highway is currently part of I-49.
