SingStar (2007 video game)

Singstar: Next Gen (Working Title) is a competetive singing game for the Playstation 3 Console. It is developed and Published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game will be released with the PS3 in all Pal reigons (Mainly Europe) and shortly after in America.

My Singstar is the online component of Singstar, ,where the players can access different types of songs in a shop called 'Singstore' and download them onto their PS3 (for a small fee) to sing with. The singstore WILL launch with over 350 songs on day one, and continue to grow after that point. All downloadable music videos will be in High Definiton.

When the game was announced at the sony press confrence at E3 2006, these were the songs for the press to try:

Avril Lavigne - "Complicated"

Coldplay - "Speed of Sound"

Culture Club - "Karma Chameleon"

Marilyn Manson - "Personal Jesus"

Queen - "Don't Stop Me Now"

Soft Cell - "Tainted Love"

The Darkness - "I Believe in a Thing Called Love"

When the game ships the purchaser may either be given vouchers to spend on songs in the 'Singstore', or there will be X amount of songs on the disc. Its been confirmed the game will ship with some songs on the disc.

Using the PS3 Camera, the player can upload their photos or videos of themselves, their singing or their 'Singstar Apartment' and upload them onto the servers for either private or public viewing. Its been described as 'My Space meets iTunes'

You can upload your vocal performences, and the developers hope to have contests based around top scores and offer prizes.

The Game will ship with an unconfirmed amount of Bluetooth Microphones which is silver which is branded with the name 'singstar'.It is battery opperated.
