Costa
Hi Aggie80, You remarked, that my article about the philosopher Costa would have no references. It would be without any problem to add them. Can I make corrections and then again publish the article? I wrote the text as short as possible, because I thought, this would be more useful for a world wide lexica. Thanks for your help in advance, Frieder Schlichting (talk) 09:50, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- By all means, add the appropriate references and send it back for review. Take a look at WP:REFB for the basics on how to reference and use inline citations. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 12:06, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
CRTC Submission
Hi Aggie80,
Can you please list the reasons that this submission was unsuccessful and maybe I can get it resolved.
Thanks :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djlowes (talk • contribs) 23:52, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
- [[1]] It's pretty basic, no references, no notability. What makes this company important enough for an article in an encyclopedia? Some of the basic helps can assist in writing an article. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk)
Understood. I will get references. The business owner played basketball for Australia, is one of only two Australians to have qualified as a Crisis Negotiator at the FBI and has hostage negotiating qualifications at the anti-terrorist level so their is definitely notability. I will make the submission more clear and dig deep for the references. What I fail to understand is how https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_Resolution_Network,_Australia can be successfully listed without references?
Cheers — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.149.197.94 (talk) 10:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- Note that the owner doesn't make a company notable. Perhaps the owner is the one that should have an article. As for the other article you noted, it is marked as having no references and has been marked for deletion as no one has provided any for a long period of time. And please sign your notes using three tildes. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 13:10, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
David Camm third trial
Can you give me more information on why you said "No indication of anything notable about the crime or trial that makes it stand out from other similar items."? The case is a very big one and one that is notable already--are you saying that the case itself isn't notable or that my article doesn't convey that notability? Do you have any suggestions for improvement? Bali88 (talk) 01:18, 7 January 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bali88 (talk • contribs) 17:13, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

- It isn't up to us to validate information through email. You need to provide substantial references from unrelated sources to establish notability. Take a look at good articles, B-class or above, and see how they are sourced and written. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk)
Hi, Thx for your reply. What can we do if we are not able to produce unrelated references to establish notability? Can I change article type or something to have wiki presence for my website? Since it's a new website of course establishing any reference would take time. Please help. Thanks again!

- Wikipedia is not an advertising or web site search engine. Until a subject has become notable it doesn't get an entry. Would the Britannica include the subject in its pages? Not at this point. Until the subject has third party references, it doesn't meet the criteria. Press releases and the subject's own site are not adequate. (It helps if you sign your messages, use four tildes to get it autosigned with a link to your talk page.)The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 11:57, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Bulfin
Hello Aggie 80 This is User Carrickaccrossthebog re Article on Michael Bulfin.
Apologies I should have added in the list of references from my CV which I have now added/ I am Michael Bulfin and can verify the details given in this article as dates and events come directly from my CV. I should point out that I am a member of AOSDANA which "The Arts Council established Aosdána in 1981 to honour artists whose work has made an outstanding contribution to the arts in Ireland". Hope this clarifies the situation. NB I use a different user name on almost every site and never use my actual name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carrickaccrossthebog (talk • contribs) 13:52, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Deutschman Design
Hi, I submitted the article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/DeutschmanDesign and it was refused for copyright violation. Can you be more specific and tell me which part? Also, is the article somewhere for me to edit it or do I have to rewrite it ands create all the links again?
Thanks, Ina Inahillebrand (talk) 17:40, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- There were sentences that were directly copied from the web site for Deutschman Design, which is a violation of their copyright. Sorry, I tried to see if I could pull up the history, but it would not let me pull it back up because of the CV. The WP:CHEAT sheet can help you with formatting. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 18:24, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Assistance Please
I do not know how to link to my article. It is still in my sandbox. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:EpiphanyVP/sandbox
I made several updates to my article you reviewed on December 23, 2013. Is there a way to have it reviewed again informally before resubmitting to see if I addressed all your concerns? Thanks, EpiphanyVP (talk) 22:02, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Leah Danielle submission rejection
My submission was rejected due to the need for more citations. There are videos of my performances with Andrea Bocelli and with David Foster both notable artists. There is also a reference to my participating in the soundtrack of a major motion picture. I thought these would be sufficient for inclusion in Wikipedia. I noted that Jennifer Zetlan who is included did not have anything more than I noted. Can you please comment why mine was rejected given Jennifer's page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leahbee7 (talk • contribs) 16:17, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- Videos and self web sites are not sufficient to create notability. And note that Jennifer Zetlan has been marked for review and possible deletion for the same reasons. The best thing to do is to review the requirements for musical notability (link in the pink box on the draft) and make sure they are met. And there is also the problem of Conflict of Interest, submitting an article on one's self. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 16:53, 11 January 2014 (UTC).
Rejected because of Reliable resources
My article was declined because of less reliable sources. When I searched up on internet it said wiki does not accept blogs, personal websites, personal wikis or even wikipedia articles as reliable sources. I wrote about a temple complex in my country where I live. Not much information can be found on websites about it.Hence I could only post images of the place. It would be of great help if someone pointed me out what kind of reliable resources that can be referred. Thank You!

- First of all, the block of text looks nothing like an article for Wikipedia. There is not a single reference provided to establish the notability of the company. Who read and approved it really doesn't matter without appropriate referencing Review WP:REFB for what is considered an acceptable reference and how to format it. WP:CHEAT can provide some help in formatting. Note that Jerry Sparkman and "Speedy Sparkman" raise a concern about WP:COI. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 21:41, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: sandbox Hi there, I recently received a failure notification from you on my Wikipedia submission: (Your submission at Articles for creation: User:Smeets72/sandbox (January 10)[edit])
I wondered if I could ask a question please? I based the layout of my submission on that of 'Belden Inc' a similar organisation whose wikipedia page has been accepted. Can you please advise if it is the 'References' section in their page that differentiates theirs from mine? If so, do I just need to upload some articles that discuss Argosy?
Any advise you can give will be most helpful Kind regards Chris

- Yes, the lack of references is a critical failure. There are a lot of formatting issues as well. Review WP:REFB and WP:CHEAT for some help in those areas. One of the problems of looking at another article is that they are often not correct either. Unless it is rated as a B-Class or above, I wouldn't rely on them. I had a hard time finding the article you were referring to, as your note does not mention it anywhere. And signing your notes is important as well, just use four tildes and it will link your talk page like this ->The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 15:13, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Rose Marie Gnausch
Hello. Thank you very much for your review of the article. Knowing that it might take three weeks to review, I sent a very rough draft creation of the article. I didn't expect to have it reviewed so quickly! :-) But thank you for taking for taking the time to review it. The article on Rose Marie Gnausch goes hand in hand with the article on Elephants for Peace which has been sent for review, but not yet reviewed. I would be very happy to get your feedback on my article on Rose Marie Gnausch. It is the first article I have ever sent! I need all the help I can get.
Thank you for taking the time to make this article acceptable for Wikipedia.
Kindest regards,

- The link in my comments takes you to an introduction to references WP:REFB, that is the most important thing to read and follow. As a living person, the references are critical and need to be inline with the appropriate info. Be sure and maintain neutrality in tone throughout the article. The quote is probably too big and is not cited to a source. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 14:58, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Angie McCartney - the only living Beatle parent
Dear Aggie80. Please give me guidelines as to why you feel the only surviving Beatle parent, author, entrepreneur and writer Angie McCartney is not worthy of a page on Wikipedia? www.mccartney.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucyconlon (talk • contribs) 18:14, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Where did the idea that she isn't worthy of a page come from? I specifically said that it may be possible to show notability. But the claims of notability have not been substantiated by independent resources. Please review WP:REFB and how to use in line citations, a requirement for biographies of living people. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 18:21, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi!
I've been working on Enhanced Vision's wiki, and after being declined for lack of sources, I wen't out and did some work finding sources to validate key points, and I had a blast doing it. Emsisoft GmbH
Hi Aggie,
You recently reviewed my article on Emsisoft GmbH and declined it because an article already exists for Emsisoft Anti-Malware. How can I get my article published?
My article is about the software developer, whereas the one that already exists is about one version of their software. I would eventually like to write articles about all versions of their software, too.
Would you like me to place my new content on the Emsisoft Anti-Malware page and go from there?

Notability
Hey, Aggie80,
I'm new to Wikipedia and I'm intending on writing several articles related to notable and influential from Alabama. This was my first attempt at an article, so be patient with me. That being said: there may be a problem with the references, but the individual in question is the president of an internationally-renowned medical school. Is that not notable? Especially since some of the university's former presidents are already listed in Wikipedia. Also, several other university presidents have Wikipedia pages. The references provided are from independent sources.
Would a paraphrased rewrite help? Alabama Influences (talk) 19:37, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- Take a look at WP:REFB for the basics on referencing. The organization that employs the individual is not an independent source. And a web site that is set up for marketing is not considered appropriate either. It may very well be that he is notable, but there are no unrelated references to establish it. Newspaper articles, journals and similar references are what need to be provided. They don't even have to be available online, but need that independence of source. Good luck! The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 19:56, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Your point on the marketing website is taken; however, it does give pertinent and independent information about the subject. Maybe running down these sources is called for. As for the organization employing the individual providing information about the individual: here is a Wikipedia entry that does just that about the head of another major university. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Gogue
That being so: I think you will understand my dilemma on your problem with notability. Especially since I studied the coding and format of this particular individual to help me understand how Wikipedia works. Alabama Influences (talk) 20:18, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Looks like you accidentally put the creator's name on an AFC draft when moving it to article namespace. I've now moved it to Marine Science Technician. Thought I'm make you aware of it (especially if there's something additional to fix that I don't know about). --R. S. Shaw (talk) 04:44, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Duster Don Hoffman
Hi,
I am new to wikipedia editing and am looking for suggestions for how to reference and verify the notability of Don Hoffman's achievements. Don is the most renowned disc golf enthusiast in Wisconsin. He was inducted into the Professional Disc Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2011. He is a member of the Course Designers Group, the Disc Golf Foundation, founder and president of the Wisconsin Disc Sports Association, and founder and president emeritus of the Mad City Disc Golf Club. I am working on a project to recognize several of our most notable people from several Wisconsin disc sports that have dedicated their lives to promoting disc sports in Wisconsin. We are also creating an online archive for Wisconsin Disc Sports events, achievements and people at http://widischistory.com.
What I am looking for here is simply a suggestion of where the verifiable references are located and how to include them in the listing for Don Hoffman at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Discoverwisc/sandbox
Thank you! Jim — Preceding unsigned comment added by Discoverwisc (talk • contribs) 20:52, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's the challenge! Finding verifiable references that are not self created, or created by those with a close relationship to the subject that can validate the claims of notability. WP:REFB is a basic reference primer that will help understand what types of sources are needed. Newspaper articles and magazines, other web sites, such as the international disc web site? History of the courses on the park web sites, etc. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 21:00, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Aristedes Metallinos
Thanks for your advice re this draft entry. I am currently getting translations from Greek to English of at least two external references to verify the reputation of this sculptor. Can you reconsider when these have been added i.e. Δημοσιεύθηχε στο περιοδικό Μυριόβιβλος 7 (1985) . σελ. 37-47 Simon Baddeley (talk) 10:09, 31 January 2014 (UTC) An additional question. I find that I have spelled the subject's name slightly incorrectly. His first name should be Aristedes and not Arestides as I have spelled it in the title of my draft that I am still working on. Can you tell me how to change the name in the article title. Best wishes. Simon Baddeley (talk) 10:30, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've renamed the article. When appropriate references have been added, feel free to re-submit the article. You might want to review WP:REFB and make sure all the criteria for notability are met and substantiated. Good luck! The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 12:12, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
Many thanks Aggie80. I'm working on it! Best wishes Simon Baddeley (talk) 10:34, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
I understand about the neutral tone, and will address that on my next editing session. Independent Verifiable sources, would that be separate sources i.e. websites or journals that reference my subject?

- Yes, see the information at WP:REFB for the basics and links to what are considered good sources. I'm not sure there are any references that can make this subject notable! The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 19:51, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Captain Brock Space Badger article, rejected
Hi Aggie
Disappointed that my article was rejected but fully understand that there needs to be clear controls over what can be published.
The article relates to a story which I will be publishing story. At that point I will be able to reference it to where the work is published. At that point, do you think it would have a better chance of being published?
Kind regards
