Why did you revert my edit?

I am curious why you reverted my edit on the Group B Strep page? The reason I removed the sentences in that paragraph is as follows. The first sentence is just a statement of the values of NICE concerning the care of healthy pregnant women. The second sentence concerning NICE's attitude to GBS screening was presented in contrast to these values. This is not a neutral way to present information as it encourages the reader to assume that there is an conflict between NICE's values and their attitude to GBS screening. Consider the following 2 sentences:

  1. Bob owns 2 pet fish.
  2. Bob says he is kind to animals, however he owns 2 pet fish.

Because the second example presents bob's ownership of the fish in contrast to the fact that he is kind to animals, the reader is encouraged to assume (without the presentation of any factual argument) that Bob's ownership of the fish means that he is not kind to animals.

This is the exact same construction as used in the NICE paragraph in the GBS article and I therefore thought that the paragraph could be made more neutral by presenting NICE's policy on GBS screening without contrasting it with their values.

I am just curious as to why you reverted my edit as I thought it was reasonable and in keeping with Wikipedia's values of clarity and neutrality.

Also it is my first edit so I am disappointed that I have not been able to contribute!

Could you please give me a brief explanation of your actions. Hopefully this will clear things up for me and I will be able to contribute in the future.

Sorry I did not find your message until this morning. You've explained it in a matter sufficient for me to understand why you edited as you did. At the time, it appeared you had simply removed information from the first paragraph. Please feel free to undo my edit or simply make your edit again. — This lousy T-shirt — (talk) 15:15, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

hi,

I cannot work out what is wrong with the Advamode wiki article. It is purely factual information about a public company, yet for some reason this guy Freshacconi keeps flagging it for speedy deletion, then telling me I am removing the speedy deletion notices, which I am not.

There is nothing wrong with the page, I have reviewed the guidelines twice and ensured that the article is fine.

Why am I still being pursued by Freshacconi? Furthermore, why am I unable to contact this person to resolve their concerns?

Cheers — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samhourigan (talkcontribs) 06:58, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I don't know how to get in touch with that person, other than on their talk page. You could try rewriting the article with a less promotional tone, making it less likely to be deleted as advertising/spam. Good luck and cheers! —This lousy T-shirt (talk) 18:51, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Beer Canada

Hi, didn't realize I was removing 'speedy deletion notices' as I'm very new to creating pages. I have read the guidelines and article about creating my first article.

I do realize I published the 'Beer Canada' page before it was completed or properly reviewed. I'm not done with the page's text and am modelling it after the Beer Institute's Wiki page. Brittanymoorcroft (talk) 20:54, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thank you very much, I feel great to be part of this big team! My sector of action is directed to aviation, so I was wondering when I could start adding photos, as I received a message saying that my account needed a confirmation... What's wrong with my edit? 85.202.40.145 (talk) 14:55, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Two things. Firstly, it messed up the disambiguation page tag at the head of the article. Secondly, you put up a tag that the article was about an abstract, non-specific place and then changed abstract to real example and non-specific to North Korea. — This lousy T-shirt — (talk) 15:14, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi This lousy T-shirt, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Yes, I think you made a mistake

First, why would adding the year to a Guinness world record be a "mistake"?

Second, why would adding "slave beasts" to the entry be a "mistake" when that is the name used by his "owners" in ALL his official internet postings? The entry already had "adorable fearsome dictator" and "prodigious Scotch drinker", which are terms used to identity the Colonel by his "owners" and the public. Slave beasts was (and is) how his "owners" identified themselves and should be allowed on his Wiki page for continuity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Streeten (talkcontribs) 19:07, 2 February 2014 (UTC) Streeten (talk) 19:09, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a link to one of those official Internet postings? If you do, you can add it back, with the source referenced beside it. As for the other, it's only February, isn't that too soon to hold a record for 2014? Especially with him dead now. Maybe 2013 though. — This lousy T-shirt — (talk) 19:14, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize but I am knew here. I do not know how to source reference.

There are more than a dozen articles about the Colonel's passing that refer to his "owners" as "slave beasts". Here is one of them from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/31/tech/social-media/apparently-this-matters-rip-colonel-meow/

Also, in several of the articles about his passing, it was stated that he would appear in the 2014 Guinness book but here is the link to the official Guinness page where his 2014 record is confirmed: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2013/8/colonel-meow-the-cat-with-the-longest-fur-50832/

Would you be so kind as to help me properly source his page? Thank you very much. Streeten (talk) 19:30, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I'll help. It's easy. I'll revert the page to your last version and add the sources you mentioned. Then I'll give you the link showing how I did it, so that you'll know how. It's easier to show than tell.  :) — This lousy T-shirt — (talk) 19:38, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Here's how it's done[1]. — This lousy T-shirt — (talk) 19:45, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! It's really important that readers know that the Colonel did NOT have "owners", even if "slave beasts" is more outrageous (which is the precisely the point) than "caretakers". Thanks again! Streeten (talk) 19:51, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New question

Since you've been SO helpful and made my day, may I impose on you with another question? A publicly known friend of mine who has a Wiki page has complained about his published page picture and his inability to have it changed, even though he is the person the page is about. Where would I find information as to why that is and if there is anything that can be done about it? Thank you, again, for all of your help. Streeten (talk) 20:05, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Providology

Hello Excirial This lousy T-shirt.
