The Illinois Constitution Party (CPIL) is affiliated with the national Constitution Party, a right-wing and theocratic political party in the United States.[1][2][3][4][5] The party asserts that the US is a Christian nation founded on the Bible and that American jurisprudence should be restored to what the party claims is its "Biblical foundations".[6][7] It has no affiliated State Representatives, Senators, or Justices. In 2006 Randy Stufflebeam the party's write- in candidate for governor won nearly 20,000 votes, about 0.5%. On April 9, 2013, the Constitution Party of Illinois elected its first official, Phil Collins as Trustee of Libertyville Township in Lake County, Illinois.[8]
The Constitution Party states that it is committed to putting forth constitutionally-committed candidates.
Platform
As an affiliate of the national Constitution Party, the CPIL supports the platform of the U.S. Constitution Party.[9]

We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States. This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on a foundation of Christian principles and values. For this very reason peoples of all faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here. The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries."
