191st Street, with two tracks and two side platforms, is the deepest station on the New York City Subway, at approximately 160 feet (50 m) below street level. It is located at St. Nicholas Avenue and 191st Street. The section of the line through the station opened on March 12, 1906, but the elevators and other work had not yet been completed and so the station opened at a later time.
